Prop lines and juice, in plain English
Every prop has two parts: a number and a price. The number is the threshold the book sets, a receiving yards total or a reception count, and you are choosing whether the player finishes over or under it. The price is what each side pays. A prop where both sides are near even money reads very differently than one where the over is heavily favored, even at the same number.
The part that quietly costs money is the juice, also called vig. A book prices both sides of a prop so that, added together, they imply more than a true one hundred percent. That extra slice is the house margin. Two books can post the same line at different juice, and paying the lighter price on the same bet is a real edge over time, which is why the board lines prices up side by side rather than trusting a single app.
