Responsible Gambling

Keep it fun, and know the limits.

MySpariEdge is for informational and entertainment use only. Sports wagering is for adults 21 and over, and it should always stay within your means. If it ever stops being fun, help is available any time.

Where we stand

Informational and entertainment only

MySpariEdge provides model projections, odds comparison, and educational content. It does not provide betting advice, and no projection here is a guarantee of any outcome. Models are estimates that can be wrong. Nothing on the platform should be treated as a promise of profit or a recommendation to place any particular wager.

Sports wagering is legal only in certain jurisdictions and is restricted to those 21 and over. Please make sure you understand the laws where you live, and never wager money you cannot afford to lose.

Support is available 24/7

  • 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537) is the national problem gambling helpline. It is free, confidential, and open 24 hours a day, and many states offer call and text support at the same number.
  • The National Council on Problem Gambling offers resources, a confidential helpline, and chat support at ncpgambling.org.
  • The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is there if you or someone you know is in crisis. Call or text 988 in the United States for immediate, confidential support.
  • State and local programs exist almost everywhere. Most states run their own problem-gambling council and helpline, so search for the council in your state to find resources specific to where you live.
Tools that help

Self-exclusion and account controls

If you want to step back, several options exist. Most licensed sportsbooks and pick'em apps offer built-in responsible-gaming controls in their account settings, so you can set your own deposit limits, wager limits, time-outs, and reality checks.

For a firmer break, self-exclusion programs let you voluntarily bar yourself from wagering for a set period. Many states run their own self-exclusion registry, and the operators themselves offer account-level self-exclusion. The National Council on Problem Gambling, linked above, can point you to the right program for your state. MySpariEdge itself is an information platform and does not accept wagers, hold funds, or process bets.

Before you need them

Limits hold better when they are set early

The controls above are easiest to use when nothing is riding on the decision. A deposit limit set after a bad week is a repair, and repairs tend not to survive the next bad week. The same limit set at the start of a season, while the question is entirely hypothetical, is a plan, and plans hold considerably better.

Three things are worth fixing in advance. The first is a stake size expressed as a share of money you could lose in full without anything important changing, which is what bankroll management covers in detail. The second is a review interval, decided by the calendar rather than by results. The third is a written record of what you actually wagered, because rising stakes, rising frequency, and shrinking gaps between wagers show up in a bet log well before they show up in how a week feels.

None of this substitutes for support if wagering has already stopped being something you can walk away from. The signs below are worth reading during a good stretch as well as a bad one, because the moment they are easiest to dismiss is the moment they are most worth checking.

Warning signs to watch for

Gambling should be entertainment you can walk away from. It may be time to reach out for help if you notice any of the following in yourself or someone close to you:

  • Chasing losses. You wager more and more to try to win back money you have already lost.
  • Spending beyond your means. You wager money that was set aside for bills, savings, or other essentials.
  • Losing control of time or frequency. You wager more often, or for longer, than you intended to.
  • Hiding it. You conceal how much you wager from family or friends.
  • It stops being fun. You feel anxious or irritable about it, or you cannot stop when you try to cut back.

If any of this feels familiar, please reach out to 1-800-GAMBLER or the resources above. There is no wrong time to ask for help.

Play responsibly

You must be 21 or older to wager. If gambling has become a problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER. MySpariEdge is informational and entertainment only, no outcome is guaranteed, and nothing here is betting advice.
