Getting Started

From a blank screen to a read on the number.

MySpariEdge publishes a model projection for a game or a player and puts it next to what the market is charging for the same outcome. That is the whole idea, and everything on the platform is built around making the difference between those two numbers easy to see. This guide takes you through it in seven steps, in the order they actually matter.

The idea

Two numbers and the gap between them

A sportsbook price is a probability with a margin attached. A model projection is an independent estimate of the same outcome. When those two disagree, there is something to look at, and when they agree there is not. Everything below is in service of seeing that comparison clearly and knowing what it is and is not claiming.

Nothing here requires you to do arithmetic. It does help to know what the numbers mean, which is what the guides section is for.

Step 1

Learn what a price is telling you

Before any board is useful, a posted price has to read as a probability rather than as a number. Convert the odds, remove the sportsbook margin, and you have the market's fair estimate. That fair number is the benchmark everything else on the platform is measured against.

Two guides cover this completely: reading a moneyline and what juice is. The no-vig calculator will do the conversion for any pair of prices you enter, free and without an account.

Step 2

Pick the board that matches the sport in season

The tools hub lists every board we publish. Baseball boards run through the MLB season, the football boards come online with the NFL season, and basketball returns with the NBA calendar. The odds, EV, and line movement tools work across all of them year round.

The tools hub groups every board by sport and marks the ones that arrive with their season, so nothing on it is a dead end.

Step 3

Read a row: projection, price, and the gap between them

Every row on a projection board carries the model's own number, the market's posted number, and the difference. The difference is the point of the row. A projection that agrees with the market is information too, because it tells you there is nothing to act on.

Step 4

Use the confidence tier to sort, not to decide

Elite, Strong, Good, and Moderate describe how far the model sits from the market on a given row, so a long board can be sorted by conviction instead of scanned line by line. A tier is a measure of disagreement with the price, and it is never a promise about one game.

The confidence tiers page defines each label precisely, including what it deliberately does not claim.

Step 5

Shop the number before you commit

Books disagree on the same market constantly, and taking -105 instead of -110 lowers the win rate you need by more than a full percentage point. The odds board lines every book we track up on one screen so the best available version of a wager is visible.

The odds board handles the comparison, and the positive EV finder goes further by flagging prices that sit on the good side of fair value.

Step 6

Track your price, not just your record

Results over twenty wagers say almost nothing, because variance moves a record much further than skill does over that distance. Comparing the price you took against the price the market closed at gives you a signal on every wager, win or lose.

This is what closing line value measures, and the line movement board keeps the opener and the current price for every market we follow so the comparison is recorded rather than remembered.

Step 7

Decide your staking before the slate starts

An edge only pays out if you are still around when the average arrives. Setting a unit size as a share of a bankroll, and keeping it constant through good and bad runs, is what turns a real edge into a realized one. Set it in advance, when nothing is riding on it.

What this is not

Three honest limits

We are not a sportsbook. MySpariEdge takes no wagers and holds no customer funds. Anything you decide to bet is placed at a licensed operator of your own choosing.

Projections are estimates. Models are wrong regularly, and a confident number is still a number that can miss. Everything published here is for informational and entertainment purposes, and no outcome is guaranteed.

A tool cannot manage a bankroll for you. Sizing and discipline sit outside anything a board can do. Our responsible gambling page collects the 21+ requirement, the helpline numbers, and the self-exclusion resources in one place.

Membership

What access looks like

Some boards are open and some are part of a membership. The current plans and exactly what each one unlocks are listed on the pricing page, and existing members can go straight to sign in. This section is reserved for a plain description of the tiers once they are confirmed.

Questions about a board, a projection, or an account go through the contact page.

FAQ

Getting started, answered

What is MySpariEdge?

MySpariEdge publishes independent model projections for football, basketball, and baseball markets and shows each one next to the sportsbook price for the same outcome. The purpose is to make the gap between a projection and a market price visible, so a decision can be made against a number rather than against a narrative.

Do I need to understand the math to use it?

No. The boards do the conversion work and present a model number, a market number, and the difference between them. Reading the guides on odds, juice, and expected value will make the boards more useful, but nothing on the platform requires you to calculate anything yourself.

Which sports are covered?

Baseball boards run through the MLB season, the NFL boards come online with the football season, and the NBA boards return with the basketball calendar. The odds board, positive EV finder, prop trends, and line movement tools cover whichever sports are in season.

What does a confidence tier actually mean?

It is a plain-language label for how far the model's number sits from the market's number on that row. Elite marks the widest disagreements and Moderate the narrowest. It measures the size of a disagreement with the price, and it is not a prediction that a specific game will land a particular way.

Does MySpariEdge place bets or take wagers?

No. We are not a sportsbook, we hold no customer funds, and we take no wagers. The platform publishes projections, odds comparisons, and educational content, and any wager is placed at a licensed sportsbook of your own choosing.

Are the projections guaranteed?

No. A projection is an estimate produced by a model, and models are wrong regularly. Everything published here is for informational and entertainment purposes, no outcome is guaranteed, and no result should be treated as expected.

How often do the boards update?

Projection boards refresh through the day as the inputs behind them change, most notably when lineups and starters are confirmed, and the odds tools refresh far more frequently because prices move constantly. Each board shows its own state rather than relying on you to guess how fresh it is.

What should I read first?

If betting markets are new to you, start with the moneyline, spread, and total guides, then read the juice explainer, since the sportsbook margin is what every other idea on the site works against. After that, the positive EV and closing line value guides cover how value is identified and how a decision gets graded.

Open a board and see the gap

The fastest way through this guide is to read a real board with it open. Every row shows a model number, a market number, and the difference between the two.
